Local journalist and news reporter Debra Morgan of WRAL News in Raleigh sat down with The Herald to discuss her college experience, her involvement in the broadcast journalism field and her learned wisdom. Morgan is originally from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She graduated with an undergraduate degree in communications from the University of Miami, a small school with only 1, students, including graduate students.
Eventually, during her senior year, she became the Editor-in-Chief of the Miami Hurricane. Even before entering college, Morgan knew she wanted to have a career in broadcast journalism. However, the couple tied the knot in in a blissful private wedding ceremony attended by close friends and family.
The couple does not have any children but they own two dogs, Bailey and Harper. Moreover, Debra and her husband Scott Morgan have known each other since high school where they were also sweethearts. However, these figures may vary substantially according to the level of seniority of the employee in question. Her primary source of income is her career as a journalist.
